How to hide apps on iPhone
Hide or lock apps with iOS, or disguise a private app as a calculator.
Hide an app (iOS 18 and later)
Touch and hold the app icon, tap Require Face ID, then Hide and Require Face ID. The app moves to a locked Hidden folder at the bottom of the App Library.
Remove an app from the Home Screen
Touch and hold the icon, tap Remove App, then Remove from Home Screen. It stays in the App Library and search.
Disguise an app
Some private apps can look like something else. TwoSafe can open as a working calculator (hold = to unlock) and can swap its Home Screen icon for Calculator, Weather or Notes.
Hiding isn't encryption
Hidden apps still contain readable data. For private photos and files, use an app that encrypts them.
